Nuit Blanche Paris 2013; it can be seen as a physical struggle against the invisible nets that envelop our world.

Cai Guo-Qiang One Night Stand (Aventure d’un soir) explosion event for Nuit Blanche in Paris an invitation to lovers all over the world

For the event, artist Cai Guo-Qiang has been commissioned to create One Night Stand (Aventure d’un Soir), a conceptual pyrotechnic “explosion event”. The unprecedented happening will take place on the Seine between the Louvre and Musée d’Orsay. Through this work, the artist invites Paris to have “une aventure d’un soir” both on the Seine — eternal witness of the romantic history of France — and in front of the Louvre and Musée d’Orsay, which house respectively Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa (La Joconde) and Édouard Manet’s Déjeuner sur l’herbe. Cai Guo-Qiang offers a work that is both a unique romantic experience and a masterful ode to love in the heart of Paris. Paris is known as a city for lovers, for strolls along the Seine and for picturesque neighborhoods. In the frame of Nuit Blanche, One Night Stand is an adventure into the night that changes people’s perception of the city; the explosion event mixes together imaginations, passions, and ambiance unique to Paris and shares the experience with a large audience. This happening is divided into three scenes: The first scene will be a heated pyrotechnic display that lasts twelve minutes. During this enchanting scene, fireworks will express love and it's metaphorical eruptions. In the second scene, a sightseeing boat (bateau-mouche) outfitted with fifty tents will bring one hundred lovers from around the world to spend a luminous and romantic evening on the Seine. If they want to share their blissful experience with other spectators, they can press a button next to them to trigger fifteen seconds of fireworks, which will be fired from small boats nearby. For the third and last scene, two minutes of elegant blazing silver fireworks will act as a tacit "good bye kiss". For the finale, fireworks that spell out the words "Sorry Gotta Go" will appear. That evening, audiences from all over the world will be able to observe this "One Night Stand" between Paris -the city of love- and the rest of the world. That evening, audiences from all over the world will be able to observe this "One Night Stand" between Paris -the city of love- and the rest of the world. Scene I: Time for the encounter At midnight, Tan Dun's Paper Music from The Pink will play, after which the twelve-minute long pyrotechnic display will begin, expressing the processes of a French sentimental encounter. Scene II: Time for lovers As an interlude to the second act, another section of Tan Dun's Paper Music from The Pink will play. At the same time, on the right, a "love boat", modified from a bateau-mouche and six small boats will light up amidst cheers, and enter the audience's field of vision. The bateau-mouche will have a total of fifty tents above and below deck. It will host one hundred lovers from all over the world to present a scene of international multiculturalism. The fifty duets- as well as spectators on the riverbanks - will enjoy the scenery along the Seine between the Lourve and Musée d’Orsay in France's renowned artistic environment. If they choose to share their experience with the spectators on the riverbanks, they can press a button next to them,  which will make pre-installed strobe lights flash along the outlines of the tent. Immediately after, the small boats nearby will launch fireworks for up to fifteen seconds, evoking an emotional reaction among the couples and the audience on the riverbanks. As such, the number of times and the frequency that the work appears is not pre-determined by the artist or the fireworks company's computer, but rather by the couples themselves. Both spectators and participants will therefore find themselves in a pleasant state of uncertainty and great anticipation. The spontaneous results will bring both the audience and the artist endless waves of surprise. Scene III: Time to go Before the end of the night, the two barges in the middle of the Seine will launch elegant blazing silver fireworks to form a richly layered and climatic two-minute finale as a "goodbye kiss". Finally, fireworks on the barge will collectively spell out in English, "SORRY GOTTA GO". All participants that evening, whether couples on the bateau-mouche or spectators on the banks, will be immersed in an emotive, radiant state of entropy, as it is not a computer that decides when to launch a firework but rather the participants' emotions. The event attempts to take people away from modern means of communication and bring them back to primitive, visceral mode of interaction; it can be seen as a physical struggle against the invisible nets that envelop our world. Two Good Reasons To Practice Tantra | OMTimes Magazine

By Chandi Devi

Tantra brings you playfulness and pleasure

Spirituality is taken very seriously and often seekers become rigid and serious instead of flexible and light-hearted. To embrace life, we need to, as Jesus said, become like children again. This is the virgin spirit of the goddess Kumari– the sweet innocence, the pure joy, expressing through the exuberance of life. We often suppress our childlike qualities of wonder and enthusiasm, and replace those feelings with complacency, boredom, suspicion, seriousness, skepticism and other emotions that stop the flow of joy.

Evoking feelings of happiness is something that we all have to work at. It’s not always automatic. We have to make a conscious effort to create, develop and maintain emotions that sustain our feelings of wellbeing at all times. And we must learn how to live in a perpetual state of loving awareness. This is a huge challenge at times, but no one else can do this for us. Since we create our own reality every moment of every day, we really have no choice.

Part of tantric work requires playfulness as we explore our sensuality through music, dance, movement, singing, art and sexuality. In fact, play and pleasure, as well as every other aspect of life, such as work, eating, lovemaking are regarded as opportunities for spiritual development.

The mind is a world of complex images and concepts, but the body’s world is one of sensation. So we can only experience pleasure through the senses. Our bodies want to feel pleasurable sensations constantly — touching, breathing deeply, dancing, looking with curiosity, walking rhythmically, and making love.

Tantra increases intuition and psychic abilities

Intuition has also been called insight, revelation, inspiration, direct apprehension, gut instinct, a flash, a hunch, a premonition, “Eureka” or “Aha,” a sixth sense, an inner voice, “vibes,” a feeling, “reading between the lines,” “red flags,” a “nagging” feeling, sensitivity, “ringing true,” “an educated guess,” “reading him (or her) like a book,” “inner radar,” “a light coming on,” preconscious concept formation, and ESP (or “being psychic,” although intuition is not truly a psychic phenomenon).

Intuition is a natural function which we all possess. It cannot be developed; it is already fully functioning and accurate, such that this part of us always knows everything which is affecting our lives or will affect our lives.

But a reliable sense of “knowing” is developed only when our minds are free from thought, for only through this inner silence can messages from our higher self-reach us.

Tantra work helps us maintain a type of inner silence and stillness even when we are busy. I call it “active body, still mind”.

Clairvoyance… clairaudience…clairsentience…the abilities to see, hear and feel through paranormal senses could become prominent, as well as the ability to heal, see, feel and manipulate energy.

Manifestation of thoughts may occur and with that comes the realization that one has to be very cognizant of his or her thoughts, feelings and actions. With power comes grave responsibility.

I might add that this phenomenon is not sought, it is earned. It is a gift.

Curiosity is a catalyst

Don't shy away when it takes hold of what you think is your "better judgment". Curiosity is SO very healthy. It can help you find the things you love and will cherish forever more. While on the flip side, curiosity can help you realize those things you thought were "just right" for you, are so far from what you could ever begin to want to handle. We live life in interesting times now. Fast times, truly fast times. It's ALL "out there". Tits and ass. Beefs and brawls. With that said, where is the tenderness? Where is the intended love behind our public actions? http://youtu.be/KiDq4Q62tz4 We are all walking around bumping into each other, acting. When it's all hanging out and when you're playing it cool, because that's what we do now...do you then find happiness, have you? We can't continue to numb ourselves. Connection is what makes life beautiful. Connect with yourself, realize who you are. Experiment with others, be sure it's done out of love and include a little tenderness. With respect to sex, whether you like it dirty, soft, with many or with one person, once or many times- please each other or yourself to the fullest extent necessary. Love yourself, love each other with integrity. Don't be afraid to let curiosity guide you into those circumstances that help you discover yourself. All while fulfilling the basic rule of mutual respect for life and needs. Be kinky, be real, be open, be available- mentally - be present- or just be. Above all be curios...it kills that cat in a good way sometimes. ;-}

Are you down to Earth? Grounding Yourself, electrically | A Cup of Green

by Danielle Renee Lee

Sometimes you just need to ground yourself. What does it mean to be grounded? Am I talking about being less stressed? It is important to relax, but that’s not what I mean. When I mention grounding yourself, it means to be barefoot on the ground outside. Why? To be one with the Earth? Well you can look at it like that and as being electrically connected to the Earth.

Also known as ‘Earthing’, the concept for grounding is the following, “The Earth’s surface contains a limitless number of free electrons that are continually replenished through solar radiation and lightning strikes, your body naturally absorbs these particles when you make physical contact with the ground. In the body, these electrons have an anti-inflammatory effect, reducing the free radical activity that causes inflammation and chronic pain.” Grass, sand, dirt and concrete are all conductive surfaces (wood and vinyl are not). In the cold weather, a concrete basement floor would work (if you can stand it).

Excess positive charges (yes, we have taken this whole ‘be positive’ notion too far *wink*) is associated with many health conditions because it causes too much oxidation. The electrons that you receive from the Earth – which is negatively charged- will help rid your body of free radicals. Substantial research in grounding also proves improvements in your Ph balance and protection from excess EMF (electromagnetic field) exposure.

Check out the video below with great information from Dr. Stephen Sinatra, an integrative cardiologist who prefers to treat heart disease by using the best of both conventional and alternative medicine.

There are claims to do this for at least 40 minutes a day. However, according to David Wolfe (a health/nutrition expert), it takes about 80 minutes for the free electrons from the earth to reach your blood stream and transform your blood. This is something anyone can do! Go outside, put your bare feet on the ground and read a book or do a puzzle.

“The more that you can be connected directly, skin to skin, with the Earth the longer you will live…” David Wolfe
